She's surrounded by the elements of nature which support life; water, air, and earth, while her body provides the same nourishment to the baby growing inside her body.
When I was pregnant, I acted pretty casual. For the most part I was living my regular life in my regular wardrobe (with some modifications), while taking extra naps and eating extra snacks. But underneath I was aware of something profound. Something much bigger than just me or my baby. Something all-encompassing, boundless, beyond comprehension. Something responsible for not just creation, but also destruction.
This energy came to a pinnacle at the birth. I could feel all the beauty and tragedy of existence mixed into one. It made me sob. Is there a name for this feeling?
While this original painting was created as a commission, the image is available as prints and framed prints.
